Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County Hires New CNO

After conducting a nationwide executive searchled by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs, Wyo., has hired Deborah Gaspar to fill the role of chief nursing officer. A seasoned healthcare executive with more than 23 years of executive leadership experience, Gaspar will assume her new duties at Memorial Hospital on December 19, 2011.

Prior to joining Memorial Hospital, Gaspar served in an interim position as system director of nursing and patient support services at St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho. Her career as a healthcare executive has included roles as chief nursing officer at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Ore.; administrative vice president of perioperative services at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, Ore.; vice president, patient care services at Holy Rosary Medical Center in Ontario, Ore.; and vice president of patient care services at Deaconess-Billings Clinic Medical Center in Billings, Mont. Gaspar completed a master’s degree in nursing at Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Ore.; a master’s degree of public administration in health administration at Portland State University in Portland, Ore.; and a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Loretto Heights College in Denver, Colo. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
